What am I? Republican or Democrat? For the longest time, I have made the bold claim that I am 100% Republican. This comes mainly from my brash arrogance that there is only Black and White – Right and Wrong.

As a white collar, business owner who is responsible for the salaries of two employees, I tend to have Republican ties. The Republican party seeks to broaden the gap between the rich and the poor, by providing tax benefits and shelters to those that have money. I can honestly say, I see nothing wrong with this. All one must do is educate themselves in the benefits of tax shelters and write-offs and they too can take advantage of these things.

For instance, last year I wrote off nearly $40,000. In that number was things such as gas mileage, food, and computer equipment. The first two are things EVERYONE must have. The third thing is something that I enjoy because I’m a geek. Because I own a business, every time I have a meal at a restaurant, it’s a write off. Every time I drive for business purposes it’s a write-off. And every time I buy a new gadget you got it! It’s a write-off. Therefore my taxable income last year was not that high. The profit was then taken care of by the depreciation of the two houses that I own, and the fact that Im a Disabled American Veteran.

Dont hate me because I figured out how to work the system I was placed in. Its like poker you just have to figure out how to play the hand you’re dealt.

So, where is the problem? Why cant I just continue to say that I’m Republican and move on? It’s because of Current Events.

Lets take a look at two problems currently facing America and where I stand on them.

1. Legalization of 11 million immigrants. This reform is brought to you by the Democratic party as they try to force the Republicans to budge on the issue. I understand that America is a migrant country. The only true Americans or the thousands of Indian Tribes here when the English came over and spread there diseases to them. I understand this. I can’t change the past. However, once we took over this country and dubbed it the United States of America and broke away from England we set our own rules. This is an English speaking country. There is a reason why EVERY country in the world teaches thier children English in school! I can’t stand having to choose between English and Spanish on a ATM machine. I can’t stand not being able to understand what the person at the drive through at McDonalds is saying to me when I order my cheeseburger. And if I hear “Para Espanol, opima el dos” one more time I’m going to scream!

I have NO problem with anyone coming into this country. I understand why they would want to. We are fortunate enough to live in the greatest country on Earth. I just ask that they do it legally, and learn how to speak our language. As business owners, we are not supposed to be hiring these illegal immigrants. Yet it continues to be done. This is were government regulation comes in. This cannot continue.

Another thing that really bothers me is the fact that these ‘immigrants’ want AMERICAN citizenship – yet at thier protest rallies… are waving MEXICAN flags!!! Errr!!!

There is my “I’m Republican” rant. Now I will switch to my “I’m a Democrat” rant. (My father would be proud)

2. The war in the gulf. On September 11, 2001 our country was faced with one of the worst acts of terrorism ever seen. The man behind the  attack – Osama bin Laden.

Can someone please tell me why this man is still free? I can. Bin Laden will never be apprehended because we never had any intentions to apprehend him. Our president immediately set out for war with Iraq. War with Saddam Hussein,  a man who supposedly harbors terrorist. What a load of bullshit. We found the guy in a hole in the ground and we now have him on trial for genocide from events that are 100% UNRELATED to September 11!!! 

And now all the headlines in the newspaper are starting to focus on an attack of Iran. <- Read that again.. its IraN with an ‘N’. We are looking to stop their nuclear program. As a former Marine, I am sick and tired of watching news and hearing that we lost more American lives in a war that in May  2003 was deemed ‘Mission Accomplished.’

I’m done ranting for the day. I guess I dont know what I am. I do know I’m NOT “one of those liberals!!”
